Lakshmi Narayana is a Senior Member of Technical Staff at VMware with over 4.5 years of experience in software development. He has worked with an Agile team on DataCenter and Consumer electronics domains and has experience working with MicroServices and CI/CD. Currently, Lakshmi is working as a Member of Technical Staff - 3 and Domain Manager at VMware. He is responsible for integrating VMware’s network virtualization product NSX-T in workload domains, fixing critical bugs, and working on user stories. He has also implemented a new feature to support IP assignment to the ESXI TEP interfaces from a static IP address pool and supported migration of workloads created in VCF 3.x.x to 4.x.x using Python automation scripts. Prior to his current role, Lakshmi worked as a Member of Technical Staff - 2 and Operations Manager at VMware where he worked on implementing host commission and decommission features that enable IT admins to add new servers to the existing Data Center infrastructure. He also proposed the usage of spring cloud contract to left shift integration failures due to change in API contracts and enhanced the feature to include commissioning hosts in bulk. He wrote unit tests with a minimum of 75% branch coverage and implemented integration tests with API request/response record/replay approach instead of static mocking. Before joining VMware, Lakshmi worked as a Software Engineer at Wipro. He worked in the VOD team in developing applications that enable users to purchase/view VOD content on TiVo Digital VR. He also developed a spring boot application that facilitates authentication and provisioning for VOD services and developed offline versions of applications to remove development dependency on TiVo software. He enhanced the performance/throughput of existing applications by suggesting a few design changes and developed a test tool that verifies external services before integrating with TiVo service, which facilitated smooth integration and reduced effort. Lakshmi has a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Programming/Programmer, General from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka and completed Class XIIth from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya. He has experience in Software Engineering, Spring, Java, Spring Boot, Integration, CI/CD, Microservices, infra, test, AWS, Web, Docker, Kafka, Backend, and Python. Overall, Lakshmi has 8.20 years of relevant experience in the field of software development.
