Their goal is to democratise data and make it accessible to anyone. In her spare time, Lavinia works on personal side projects and volunteers to automate workflows for for-purpose organisations. She also mentors women looking to switch careers into tech and improves tech literacy in regional areas of Australia through a program called DigIT. Lavinia has experience in product management, user research, and storytelling. She has worked with a range of frontend and backend technologies, including AngularJS, MeteorJS, ReactJS, Java, Python, Clojure, and Bash. She is also certified in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and has experience with tools such as BitBucket, JIRA, Confluence, Slack, Zendesk, PagerDuty, and OpsGenie. Prior to her current role, Lavinia founded Women We Work With, a 7-part miniseries showcasing women role models in the tech industry. She also worked as a Software Engineer at Rokt, an Australian marketing technology start-up. Lavinia holds a Bachelor of Software Engineering (Honours) and a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) from The Australian National University.
