Lawrence Siden is a highly skilled full-stack developer with a wealth of experience in developing web applications using a variety of technologies including Perl, Python, and Javascript. He has recently scored an impressive 90 on a Python proficiency exam, demonstrating his exceptional skills in this area. Currently working as a Software Development Consultant at Verizon, Mr. Siden is responsible for updating and improving internal web applications used by Network Operations engineers to monitor network capacity for text messaging and to monitor emergency alert text message broadcasts. He uses Python, Google Maps API, and OpenMapTiles.org to render images of affected areas and has also developed several REST-ful web APIs with Python and MongoDB for user authentication, general data storage and retrieval, and tracking cell devices suspected of sending spam. Prior to joining Verizon, Mr. Siden worked as a Consultant at Latcha+Associates, where he worked on several projects involving automation of mass email for an automotive marketing division, a website for auto-dealers to order their own ad campaigns, and automate communications with existing customers. He used Python, PHP, Angular, and MySQL, Django, and nginx and Puphet/Vagrant to complete these projects. During his free time, he worked on ways to improve a video-processing pipeline using GStreamer with Python and C. Mr. Siden also worked as a Consultant at N-Tonic, where he built the front-end to Prevention at Home portal, a public health site sponsored by George Washington University through an NIH grant to assist AIDS patients, their care-partners, and clinical testing. He used Javascript with AngularJs framework and built end-to-end tests with Behave (Python). Mr. Siden has an MA in Computer Science from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where he studied from 1981 to 1985. He also has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Economics and Mathematics from the University of Michigan, where he studied from 1974 to 1979.
