Lee Collins is a highly experienced Senior Software Architect and Developer with over 25 years of experience in developing leading-edge software. Based in Chicago, he specializes in JVM languages such as Java, Groovy, and Scala. Lee is an expert in developing highly distributed systems and heavily multi-threaded applications, and has worked with both large and small teams in various capacities such as team-member, team lead, or mentor. Currently, Lee is working as a Programming Consultant at First National Bank of Chicago, where he is responsible for assisting in writing a customer service system to replace the OLD Bank-by-Phone system. The new system runs on Windows NT and was written in C++ using Microsoft Foundation Classes. He was personally responsible for portions of the system involving transferring funds and interest rates. In the past, Lee has worked with companies such as Swiss Bank/USB and Comdisco in various roles such as Object Modeling Consultant and C++ Consultant, respectively. At Swiss Bank/USB, he designed and implemented financial objects for use with financial applications, while at Comdisco, he developed additional screens for an existing product written in Visual C++. He used SQL/Server and Sybase as databases and added new classes and data tables to enhance the security of the product and add new privileges. Lee has a strong educational background, having completed a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from DePaul University in 1986. He also holds a High School Diploma in Computer Software Engineering from Dunbar and a Diploma from McCosh. Lee's technical skills include Software Engineering, Scala, Java, Spring Boot, Spring, and Web development.
