He has a proven ability to lead and execute development efforts, as evidenced by his current role as senior manager and technical lead on the development of the Hyperloop One simulation system. This system is utilized in areas of algorithms development, logistics optimization, control software verification, and system performance analysis. Prior to joining Hyperloop One, Leo worked at Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems as a Staff Software Engineer, where he was a senior developer and technical lead on multiple successful projects focused on the development of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) technologies. He served as deputy program manager and principle investigator on the design and development of a sensor and vehicle platform independent collision sense-and-avoid (SAA) system, and as principle investigator on the design and development of a situational awareness interface integrated as part of a modern UAV ground control station to assist UAV pilots monitor and avoid nearby air traffic. He was also responsible for designing and developing a real-time hardware-in-the-loop simulation system for UAV collision SAA technology. Leo's education includes a Master of Science (M.S.) in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
