Lesly Arun Franco is an AI Engineering Lead at AstraZeneca, passionate about using technology to make the world a better place. With over 10 years of relevant experience, Lesly is an expert in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Data Science, NLP, AWS, Java, Keras, PyTorch, GCP, TensorFlow, and FastAI. In his current role at AstraZeneca Chennai, Lesly leads the AI Engineering team, where he has developed state-of-the-art NLP models for Patient Safety Signal detection from bio-medical literature, information extraction tasks, Machine Reading AI Chatbot, and Live Document Classification using Deep Learning. He has also been an individual contributor for many Data Science POC's and achieved state-of-the-art models in Ticket Classification with 90% accuracy. Lesly has successfully developed an end-to-end ML project, which involves the steps from Data Collection to Production Deployment. He has collected data from various data sources using API's, web scraping, and databases and trained models in AWS/GCP. Prior to joining AstraZeneca, Lesly worked at Cognizant as an Associate, where he actively developed and designed software-based prototypes, POC’s, and feasibility studies for new requirements and challenges using Java and Python programming languages. He also developed and consumed REST API's for various IT applications and developed a few Machine Learning POC's. Lesly also worked as a Software Engineer at Blessed Enterprises. Lesly holds a Nanodegree in Deep Learning from Udacity and a B.Tech in Information Technology from Anna University. He is well-versed in AI, NLP, ML, AWS, Deep Learning, Data Scientist, GCP, Keras, Python, Java, TensorFlow, Pytorch, Web, and Software Engineering.
