Lewis Meyers is a passionate developer advocate and career coach with a strong background in tech and leadership. As a veteran who transitioned into the tech space, Lewis attended and graduated from The Tech Academy, where he honed his coding skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python. With over 13 years of relevant experience, Lewis has become a leader in the developer advocacy space, consistently adding value to organizations that recognize the importance of this program. Currently, Lewis is the Founding Developer Advocate at DevelopThis, where he built the Developer Advocate Program from the ground up. He is responsible for driving awareness to DevelopThis products and services, managing and growing discord servers, and collaborating with Operations, Marketing, Sales, and Engineering team leads. Lewis also works closely with the CEO, CTO, and CFO to ensure resources are effectively utilized for organization growth. Prior to his role at DevelopThis, Lewis served as a Developer Advocate and Engineer at Career Karma, where he hosted over 100 live audio rooms and led 80+ tech talks on career development, JavaScript, Python, and technical interviews. He also developed 20+ niche live audio sessions for resume building and matching students with technical bootcamps. Lewis led team building huddles, presented tech talks on the company YouTube channel, and conducted 30+ 1-on-1 coaching sessions for newer members in the tech space. Before his career in tech, Lewis served as an Infantryman in the Virginia Army National Guard. He secured premises and personnel by patrolling entry points and monitoring surveillance equipment worth $45M+, inspected incoming vehicles and equipment daily, and ensured the security, safety, and well-being of all personnel and visitors. Lewis was also deployed for Hurricane Irma Humanitarian Relief and served as a leader in high target detection and identification of M1Abrams Tanks during his deployment in Kuwait. Lewis holds an Associate's degree in Business Administration and Management from Northern Virginia Community College and is currently pursuing a degree in Computer Software Engineering from The Tech Academy. He is proficient in Python, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS and possesses core competencies in leadership, collaboration, developer advocacy, community managing, community engagement, and problem-solving. As a lifelong learner, Lewis is committed to staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in the industry.
