Lichen Wang is a highly accomplished Senior Machine Learning Engineer with over 4 years of experience in developing and implementing machine learning models. Currently working at Apple, Lichen has extensive experience in building and deploying machine learning models for various applications. Lichen's previous experience includes working as a Machine Learning Engineer at Apple and as a Graduate Researcher at Berkeley Artificial Intelligence Research. During his time at BAIR, he developed an automated pipeline selection mechanism that combined primitives provided by Data-Driven Discovery of Models (D3M) library automatically into pipelines on given machine learning datasets. He also worked on abstracting general patterns in feature engineering and implementing them as reusable primitives. Lichen holds a Master of Engineering in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, a Master of Science in Data Science and Information Technology from Tsinghua University, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Lanzhou University. He also spent a year as an exchange student at the University of Leeds, where he studied Chemistry. Lichen's technical expertise includes ML, Research Scientist, Docker, and MongoDB.
