Lida Wang is a highly experienced Senior Backend Engineer with a strong background in software development and machine learning. Currently working at Slack, Lida is responsible for developing and maintaining the backend infrastructure of the popular communication platform. Prior to joining Slack, Lida worked at Redfin as a Senior Software Engineer, where she was involved in coordinating with multiple teams to expose the results of a machine learning algorithm across the website. She was also instrumental in convincing the analytics team to leverage a streaming architecture to preserve the performance of map queries. Lida's contributions to the development of the phone-optimized version of the details page for tablets helped increase user engagement with the photo viewer and scroll depth, both metrics that correlate with user retention. Lida also mentored junior engineers, teaching them the technical ropes as well as how to navigate their careers.
