Linda Gray is a seasoned software engineering leader with over 14 years of experience in the communication, collaboration, and family safety space. She has worked extensively on client experience for web and mobile, as well as backend services for Outlook Web App (OWA) and Xbox Live. Linda is a high performer both as an individual contributor and as a people manager, and possesses strong cross-team and cross-discipline collaboration skills. Currently, Linda is a Senior Engineering Manager at Niantic, where she leads a team of 6+ engineers building backend systems and client experiences for Pokémon Go. Her team's charter includes all aspects of catching Pokémon, Pokédex, Pokémon inventory management, evolution, mega evolution, buddy system, egg system, quest system, AR mode Pokémon encounters, and supporting external connected accessories and devices. The tech stack for her team includes Unity3D game client with C# and iOS/Android native plugin components, and backend services built with Google Cloud - GCP, Kubernetes, Spanner, Dataflow, BigQuery. Prior to Niantic, Linda worked at Microsoft, where she held two principal software engineering management positions. At Teams Mobile Platform, she hired and established a newly funded team of 8-10 engineers for mobile platform on Teams. At Xbox Live Family, Linda took over as lead for the newly formed Xbox Family team with a green field project of building the v1 Xbox Family mobile app to help parents create and manage child accounts, set safe limits for screen time, content, and online safety. She built up team culture, agile process from the ground up with 4-6 engineers, and drove product vision as well as engineering infrastructure from inception to launch. Linda holds a degree in Computer Science from Cornell University. Her tech stack includes Senior Software Engineer, Backend, Mobile, iOS, Android, Web, Integration, Kubernetes, GCP, Microservices, Azure, and infra.
