Lisa Wang
Senior Research Engineer at DeepMind
About
Lisa Wang is a Research Engineer at DeepMind with a passion for developing technologies that help humans make better choices and improve universal access to knowledge. With over 5 years of relevant experience, Lisa has a strong background in machine learning, artificial intelligence, computer vision, and natural language processing. Prior to joining DeepMind, Lisa worked at Orbital Insight as a Software Engineer, where she built algorithms that turn geospatial data into actionable insights to help organizations make more informed decisions. She designed and implemented scalable computer vision algorithms for segmentation (semantic and instance), object detection, and image classification using Python, TensorFlow, and Keras. Lisa also contributed to testing and monitoring systems and collaborated with other teams to facilitate smooth deployment of computer vision algorithms in production. She communicated with clients to understand their needs and customize algorithms to meet their requirements. Before working at Orbital Insight, Lisa was a Software Engineer, Machine Learning at Google, where she worked on research in efficient machine learning to speed up computation and reduce energy consumption. She also pursued machine learning research for educational applications (e.g., for intelligent tutoring systems) at Stanford and published her work at the Educational Data Mining Conference in 2017. Lisa has taught two introductory courses at Stanford on AI and data mining (CS102 & CS94SI) and was a teaching assistant for graduate-level courses on AI and Natural Language Processing (CS221 & CS224N). Lisa holds a Master's Degree in Computer Science from Stanford University, where she also earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Her tech stack includes research scientist, ML, AI, computer vision, NLP, software engineer, object detection, Keras, object detection, test, Python, and TensorFlow. Lisa is a highly motivated individual with a proven track record of delivering high-quality work. She is excited about working on cutting-edge technologies and making a positive impact on society.
