Loc Mai is an experienced Site Reliability Engineer currently working at Axon. With over 8 years of relevant experience, Loc has developed a range of skills in cloud operations, observability, identity management, and open-source projects. At Axon, Loc operates the cloud infrastructure layer with Kubernetes platform, working with various technology stacks, databases, and systems. Loc is also experienced in monitoring and troubleshooting for CentOS and Windows servers, mediating with the green bars on Nagios, and having fun with ElasticSearch, Kafka, Redis, and ActiveMQ. Additionally, Loc engineers the CloudOps tools to get rid of the manual toil from the system. Loc has built a Unified Observability Platform including Prometheus, Grafana, Cortex for an enormous system and migrated from DataDog to a homegrown monitoring system. Loc is also experienced with OpenTelemetry observability framework and has built and unified Azure PaaS metrics with Promitor. Loc operates and manages Splunk and builds and manages Identity Access management for Azure Cloud/AWS and the internal infrastructure. Loc has contributed to several open-source projects, including Promitor, Opentelemetry, and Prometheus. Prior to working at Axon, Loc worked as a Site Reliability Engineer & Software Engineer at Grove HR, where Loc fully built and managed production-grade cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform. Loc also developed continuous integration & delivery systems, implemented microservices with TypeScript, NestJS, Lerna, and developed Slack bot for Continuous Integration with Python and internal services with Golang. Loc also worked as a Software Test Engineer at Athenka, where Loc developed, maintained, and executed test cases for a Chat Bot project, researched on how to test NLP system, and worked with Selenium, Karate for automation testing. Loc holds a degree in Computer Science from VNU-HCM High School for the Gifted.
