Lokesh Agrawal is a highly experienced and successful project manager with over 10 years of experience in building high-performing tech teams and executing projects with agility in dynamic start-up-like environments. He has a proven ability in designing and building multi-tenant, highly available, performant, and scalable distributed systems. Currently, he leads a team of 20+ world-class engineers in D.E.Shaw, primarily responsible for building next-gen job scheduling and workload automation/Orchestration software. In addition to his role as a project manager, Lokesh is an active member of the innovation group, where he helps create multiple success stories from unclear, ambiguous, and complex ideas. He is a self-starter, result-oriented professional who loves to constantly innovate and translate complex and unclear technical challenges into something meaningful. He enjoys working on projects, products, and services to impact and delight end-consumers directly. Lokesh's past experience includes working on his startup that aimed to be an enterprise software solution for helping organizations with tech recruiting needs and crowd-sourcing innovative solutions for solving core and complex business problems. He was also a developer in Amazon's Ordering India team, where he was primarily involved in designing and developing Amazon's next-gen Shopping Cart platform called "UberCart." As a project leader at D. E. Shaw, Lokesh led the design and development of next-generation job scheduling and workflow automation software to schedule and run ~350k production-critical Jobs per day. He was responsible for executing projects end-to-end, including preparing high-level design and architecture proposals, creating and reviewing low-level design, leading and training a team of software developers, and owning the team's short-term and long-term goals. Lokesh's education background includes a degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. His tech stack includes DevOps, Frontend, Data Scientist, CI/CD, Research Scientist, QA, Software Engineer, Web, and Infra. He is currently hiring Frontend, Fullstack, and DevOps engineers for his team at D.E.Shaw.
