Long Long is a Software Engineer at Microsoft with over 5 years of relevant experience. He believes that solving engineering problems to deliver business value is the key to making everyone happy. Long has worked with various technologies such as Swift, iOS, JavaScript, PHP, and UI. In his previous role as a Software Engineer Intern at MicroStrategy, Long developed the Usher Event iOS app, an iPad app that integrates with Usher and UsherPro for on-site guest check-in for 100+ annual MicroStrategy events. He collaborated with UX designers to create a brand-new UI with UIKit and Interface Builder, and simplified end-user workflow. Long also implemented new features such as connecting the app to a Bluetooth printer, one-tap check-in for a group of guests, and printing guest badges on the fly. He refined the data model schema in CoreData, refactored project architecture using MVC design pattern, and improved modularity. Long optimized data loading speed with reformed network communication logic and multi-threading, and reduced user waiting time by 75%. As a Part-time Web Developer at Indiana University Data to Insight Center, Long conducted regular maintenance of multiple websites held by the research center. He redesigned an online course website by implementing a responsive interface using Bootstrap framework and added an interactive syllabus table, improving user experience across all devices. Long also developed JavaScript Plug-ins for the data repository website to auto-construct dataset citations in real-time.
