Louisa Spicer is a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer with over 5 years of relevant experience. Currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at keel, Louisa has previously worked as a Full Stack Engineer at lingumi and as a Software Engineer at echo. At lingumi, Louisa played a key role in cleaning up the codebase and creating simple and reusable components to create a library of design system components in collaboration with the product designers. She regularly paired with a junior developer to help upskill and onboard new engineers to the team. She also helped to move away from Redux by using React Query and React Hooks. Louisa was an active participant in the diversity and inclusion group, focusing on quieter voices and making introverts feel more heard. She also designed and implemented a testing solution for teachers to quickly test lesson configurations themselves in the app, and worked closely with PM on a new internal tool to help teachers create game configurations themselves without dev time. At echo, Louisa was part of a fast-paced innovative startup that was acquired by healthcare company McKesson UK. She built a wide range of internal and patient-facing web and mobile apps, working closely with Product Managers, Designers, and fellow Engineers in weekly sprints. Louisa was part of the Acquisition team and had experience building fast to iterate and improve, learning and adapting through data to quickly produce features that had real and meaningful impact for their patients. Louisa holds a degree in Computer Programming from makers academy and a Bachelor of Arts in Film Studies from the University of Surrey. She has a strong tech stack that includes React Native, JavaScript, TypeScript, NodeJS, Redux, and more.
