Luan Corumba is a Lead Data Scientist at Itaú Unibanco, with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. He is a passionate individual who not only loves the technical aspect of his work but also values the power of collective effort. Luan takes pleasure in learning about the intensity of team collaboration, the art of building high-performance teams, and the engineering of constructing pipelines of statistical exploration. Currently, Luan leads a team of internal data science consultants at Itaú Unibanco, with the goal of training and forming new teams of scientists in different sectors of the organization. He works collaboratively with his team to create high-impact solutions. Previously, Luan worked as a Coordenador de Data Science para Fraudes at Santander Brasil, where he led a team responsible for transforming voluminous data from big data environments into inputs for advanced studies, machine learning models, and fraud prevention policies. He also worked as a Cientista de Dados at Santander Brasil, where he developed advanced analytical solutions and machine learning models to optimize CRM campaigns for different stages of the customer lifecycle. Luan is proud of his achievements, including participating in building a team with high technical capacity in automating data pipelines, developing statistical models, and actively participating in solving business problems. He also helped to co-build a culture of cooperation, empathy, and striving for excellence. Luan has experience working with Oracle SQL, Python, Spark, Hive SQL, PySpark, Scikit-learn, XGBoost, and Excel. Luan has relevant experience of 7.94 years as a Data Scientist, Research Scientist, Senior Software Engineer, and has expertise in Spark, ML, SQL, Big Data, Hadoop, XGBoost, Scikit, Python, and Apache Hive. He completed his Bachelor's degree from Universidade Federal de Segipe in 2015.
