Luke's interest in computer technology began at an early age, and he has been programming since he was a toddler. Software development really took root while pursuing his PhD in bioinformatics at Georgia Tech, where his first script (Perl) reduced 40 manual hours of collecting biological data into 10 minutes. Currently, Luke is a Staff Software Engineer at Labelbox, a collaborative training data platform for artificial intelligence applications. He helps enterprises create and manage labeled data at scale so that they can focus on building what their customers want. Luke has previously worked as a Senior Frontend Engineer at Labelbox and as the Owner of Ulritech, LLC, where he built custom software that made customers smile, fueled growth, solved hard problems, and increased business efficiency. Luke holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Bioinformatics from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biology, General from Houghton College.
