Mackenzie Turner is a Software Engineer at Webflow with a passion for creating innovative solutions that solve problems and bring joy to people's lives. Mackenzie has over six years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on both frontend and backend development. She has worked on a variety of projects, from building subscription-based podcast feeds to developing microservices for tracking relevant events in the execution lifecycle of related asynchronous operations. As a Senior Software Engineer at Glow, Mackenzie played a key role in building and maintaining the Glow.fm app, which provides subscription-based podcast feeds to over 20,000 listeners and processes hundreds of thousands of payments through Stripe. She also built the front-end of Refer-O-Matic, a tool for podcast referral programs, from the ground up by translating Figma designs into an interactive UI that communicates with the back-end through GraphQL. Additionally, she built an application for integrating Glow.fm and Refer.fm products with Zapier, which is published in their official app directory. At Lifion, Mackenzie designed and implemented logic for capturing and storing metrics used for performance monitoring of Node.js/Express.js servers. She also served as a key developer and maintainer for new versions of core Node.js modules utilized company-wide, including clients for logging and interfacing with AWS (Kinesis, SQS, S3, and DynamoDB). She gave bi-weekly demos communicating module changes to the rest of the organization and was the primary debugging support for teams transitioning to updated modules. Mackenzie holds a BA in Visual and Dramatic Arts from Rice University, as well as a degree in Computer Software Engineering from the Grace Hopper Program at Fullstack Academy. She also studied Architecture at the Danish Institute for Study Abroad.
