Madhu Smitha is a seasoned Software Engineer with over 15 years of experience in the networking industry. Her expertise lies in test development, designing test networks, writing and executing test cases, and automating them. Madhu has hands-on experience with layer 2 and layer 3 technologies such as ISIS, SR, Multicast, OSPF, MPLS, VLAN, and more. Currently working at Cisco, Madhu is responsible for post silicon validation of Xpliant ASICs, end-to-end performance testing, system level tests, and other functionalities including cut through, multicast, mirroring, MAC, and proprietary functionality like packet tracker and simple/hierarchical timestamp. She has also done functional test case automation using Python. Prior to her current role, Madhu worked as a Sr. Lead Validation Engineer at Cavium, where she was responsible for post silicon validation of two generations of Xpliant flexible programmable chips. She was closely involved in understanding the architecture of the ASIC and coming up with test cases for various blocks like multicast, MAC (1G, 10G, 25G, 100G), performance (benchmark tests), and stress level tests, cut through, QOS features like PFC, shaping and ingress buffering, mirroring, packet tracker, etc. Madhu worked closely with various teams such as designers, verification engineers, TME, and software team to timely close on bugs. She also has experience in automation using Python and has worked with test automation frameworks developed with pytest. Madhu holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from KLCE, and her tech stack includes Software Engineering, testing, Python, and SDET. With 15.61 years of relevant experience, Madhu is a highly skilled and experienced professional in the networking industry.
