Mahabaleshwar Asundi is a seasoned engineering leader with over 16 years of experience in enterprise product, mobile, and desktop application development, engineering leadership, and innovation. He is currently the Senior Engineering Manager at Flipkart, leading the development and hybrid-cloud adoption efforts for Flipkart Data Platform services, as well as the development efforts for Flipkart clickstream analytics platform. In addition, he is also responsible for leading the Ingestion, Fstream, Reporting, and clickstream analytics platforms/teams in Flipkart. Mahabaleshwar has a strong track record of building and leading high-performing teams to deliver large-scale services and enterprise products from the ground up. He has led efforts to scale Flipkart Data Platform services for BBD events, resulting in an 8x increase in business as usual (BAU). Mahabaleshwar is well-versed in a range of technologies, including Kafka, Hbase, Spark, Flink, Vertica, Druid, Elastic Search, Hadoop, and BigQuery, among others. Prior to his current role, Mahabaleshwar held several leadership positions at Flipkart, including Senior Engineering Manager, where he conceptualized and built a Managed-Database platform for MySQL and DSQL use cases, as well as a Backup and Disaster Recovery platform for all data, driving 100% service adoption. He also served as Engineering Manager, where he led development efforts for Monetization, Accounting, GST, and Seller Settlement engineering platform, and led GST compliance services development and rollout efforts for Flipkart, Myntra, and Jabong.
