Mahesh Balan Umaithanu, PhD is a highly experienced data scientist with expertise in NLP, machine learning, deep learning, and multivariate statistics. He has a strong background in academia and industry, having worked as a visiting faculty member at Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, Indian Institute of Management Trichy, and XLRI. He is also currently a visiting faculty member at Indian Institute of Management, where he teaches a course in business data mining to the PGPEX batch. In addition to his academic experience, Mahesh has worked as an independent consultant for over 10 multinational organizations on various projects. He has published papers in AIS, ACM, Springer, and IEEE. Mahesh has hands-on experience in problem-solving using libraries like genism, spacy, nltk, sklearn, keras, tensorflow, pandas, and numpy. Mahesh has also worked as a visiting faculty member at Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli, where he taught a course in Python programming for AI and ML to the PGCBAA batch.
