Mahesh Gondi is a versatile Freelance Data Engineer and Machine Learning professional with over 9 years of relevant experience in the industry. He has a strong background in Data Science, Data Engineering, and Software Engineering. Mahesh has a proven track record of identifying business use cases, conducting iterative research and development of Machine Learning models, and packaging and productionizing models into necessary micro-services. He is proficient in setting up Data Platform infrastructure from scratch and has experience working with various technologies such as Python, Docker, XGBoost, Scikit, OLAP, Google Cloud Platform, and Amazon Web Services. Currently, Mahesh is working as a Data Scientist at Omio, where he has been solving complex challenges in the travel domain for the past 3 years. His primary responsibilities include Journey Recommendation, Fraud Detection, Cache Optimization, and Improving Marketing Efficiency. Mahesh has also designed and developed an in-house pipeline to detect credit card fraud and has optimized marketing efficiency for Google Paid Search. He has also developed infrastructure for the team and enforced price accuracy for travel tickets under caching constraints. Mahesh has previously worked with companies such as Visual Meta GmbH and Boomerang, where he played a crucial role in improving the existing platform and building the data platform from scratch, respectively. He has also worked with Java, Scala, Spark, Hadoop, Hive, and OLAP systems. Mahesh holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science from the Institute of Technology, BHU.
