Mahesh Wakade is a highly skilled and versatile software engineer with over 10 years of experience in network and systems security, firmware development, and testing. He has a Master's degree in Computer Software Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from Government College of Engineering, Amravati. Mahesh has worked with Tier1 Cloud providers, including VMware and Cisco, where he was responsible for developing and integrating cloudOps tools for edge computing and cloud infrastructure projects. He was also a Senior Software Engineer in the network security domain, with hands-on experience in networking protocols, IPSec, SSL VPN, and firewall. Mahesh's core competencies include network and systems security, firmware development, and testing. He is an expert in firewall, IPSec, SSL VPN, DOS attacks, iptables, Linux, WLAN, wireless security (WEP, WPA), and Cisco IOS. He has worked with tools like Wireshark, Snort, hping3, nmap, tcpdump, snmpwalk, Nessus, backtrack OS, code-blocks, burp, LOIC, yersinia, cain, and abel. Mahesh is passionate about LINUX and keeps up to date with all protocols and standards. He is keen to be part of the complete software cycle right from customer requirement, design, development, QA, and marketing. He has a can-do attitude, project execution skills, and excellent interpersonal skills. Currently, Mahesh is a Principal Member of Technical Staff at AMD, working with Pensando, an edge computing and cloud infrastructure start-up with funding of $278M. He is involved in framework and test development for SDN-based edge computing products used by cloud service providers. Apart from work, Mahesh enjoys music, photography, visiting new places, and reading books and magazines, especially related to business journalism.
