Mahul Bhattacharya is a highly experienced Software Engineer with a career spanning over 13 years. Currently working at Google as a Software Engineer, he has a diverse range of experience in various areas of software development, from the Linux kernel to applied Deep Learning. He is a firm believer in ambitious ideas, failing often, and getting results. Prior to his current role, Mahul worked at Flipkart as a Software Engineer, where he was instrumental in designing and executing the Adaptive Ratelimit, which allowed for adjusting the throttling of traffic that Flipkart sends to banking partners based on their performance. He also ideated and experimented with an ML pipeline to do transaction routing, which led to an improvement in Success Rates of up to 20%. Additionally, he implemented and evangelized an automated canary pipeline that brought deployment quality-related outages to zero. Mahul also co-founded Peazy, where he built a Deep Neural Net-powered predictive dashboard for Dutch cities. The dashboard allows cities to visualize the behavior of their on-street and off-street parking assets and simulate the impact of policy changes. He also built a crawler that can crawl an entire city over street view images and identify parking lots, cars, and vacant spots using computer vision. He also developed a parking data API that was piloted by multiple Dutch companies in the smart mobility/parking space.
