Mallik Mahalingam is a highly accomplished technology leader with over 31 years of experience in the industry. He is currently serving as the Vice President and Fellow at Intuit, where he is leading the Platform Acceleration Group. In this role, he is responsible for driving the technology and architecture of M&A integrations, as well as addressing the infra/system needs of Intuit SaaS services. Prior to joining Intuit, Mallik founded and built an enterprise storage company, Springpath, from the ground up. He served as the CEO/CTO and formed the founding team, raised multiple rounds of funding from top VCs, launched the company in 2015, built the early customer base, and established an OEM relationship with CISCO. He scaled the company to 140+ people and successfully took the company through an acquisition with CISCO for $320M. Mallik is also recognized as the primary author of the IETF standard on VXLAN (RFC 7348) and led the industry adoption of VXLAN with key partners such as CISCO, Arista, and Broadcom. He has 80+ US patents issued and has published 8 technical papers in leading conferences/journals. He is an expert on IO virtualization and various IO technologies, with a proven track record of building innovative products. Mallik has built the industry's first technology on direct access to physical hardware [PCI/PCIe] from a VM with support for VM migration under direct access to NICs. He has also built the industry's first PCI hot-plug technology and fault-tolerant NIC solutions for Netware OS and Windows OS. He has played a significant role in advising/helping several VMware partners and key customers on IO architectures, design, implementation, and real-life issues. Mallik is an advisor to several startups and VCs and has in-depth and hands-on experience on x86 HW/SW [x86, SMP, VT-x, VT-d, PCI/PCIe, IOAPIC, SR-IOV]. He has first-hand kernel hacking experience in Netware OS, Windows, Linux, and vSphere, and has expertise in distributed systems, identity areas, and networking and storage virtualization. Mallik holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Sri Venkateshwara College of Engineering. He is a senior software engineer with expertise in infrastructure.
