Manali Desai is a User Experience/Product Designer with a background in technology and a passion for design. She believes that the addition of a human aspect to technology can be leveraged to make deliberate, evidence-based decisions to solve complex problems, create better experiences, and improve lives. She is always eager to learn and discover connections between seemingly unrelated concepts. With her innate curiosity, Manali constantly strives to improve her knowledge and skills, making it easy for her to adapt to changing priorities, timelines, and project directions. Manali is currently working as a freelance Designer, conducting user research, producing design artifacts, optimizing website experience, and influencing branding direction for various small clients. She has also previously worked as a Programmer at Bitwise, where she built and improved the performance of Enterprise Systems by developing and optimizing code. She also fixed critical errors in data processing batch and automated performance monitoring and reporting through scripting. As a Research and Development Intern at TouchMagix, Manali conducted research to understand the existing market of interactive display solutions. She developed a real-time clothing classification system using C++ and OpenCV, with an accuracy rate of 92.3% upon live testing, and documented insights in reports and review presentations. Manali holds a Master of Information in User Experience Design from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology from Pune Institute of Computer Technology. Her technical skills include Designer, Product Designer, and Research Scientist. Manali has a relevant experience of 4.18 years and is actively seeking full-time opportunities. She is excited by the existence of an infinite number of problems that need to be solved around us, none of which are too small to have an impact on our lives.
