Manoj Palat is a highly experienced Software Architect with over 24 years of relevant experience. He is currently working as an Engineer at IBM, where he is responsible for product ownership, software engineering, hands-on coding, and open source leadership and commitment. Manoj is a committer and lead in the Eclipse Java Compiler Group/JDT, where he drives the Java Compiler work across the six-month release cadence versions from the Eclipse Java Dev. Manoj's primary responsibilities include managing features such as Switch Expressions, Records, and Java 15 language features in JDT/Eclipse Compiler for Java (ecj). He follows changes in Java Language Specification (JLS)/JVM Specification with respect to Java 16. Manoj manages each six-month release cadence feature across multiple sprints with work allocation/management done both with internal/external open source committers/contributors. Manoj is also an evangelist and has delivered talks, workshops, and discussions at various conferences such as DevoxxUS, EclipseCons, GIDS.Java, Gids.Lang, Eclipse Summits, etc. Prior to joining IBM, Manoj worked as a Principal Architect/Technical Architect at Parallocity, where he was responsible for program analysis of concurrent programs to detect issues such as data races. He also worked on research-based solutions for deadlock detection and memory leak root cause analysis by dynamic analysis of source/intermediate code. Before that, he worked as a Project Manager and Software Engineer at Infineon, where he was responsible for project management activities and engineering parts in compiler/tools for Infineon's processor. Manoj completed his education at Silver Hills and has a strong tech stack that includes Java, Senior Software Engineer, and Research Scientist. He is a committed and experienced professional who is passionate about software architecture and development.
