Manthan Fursule is a highly skilled Software Engineer at Cisco with a specialization in Data Science. He has worked as a Graduate Technical Intern at Cisco, where he created an end-to-end JSON to Parquet format converter. The converter was designed to take JSON logs from the Cisco email gateway product (ESA) as input and convert them to Parquet format to store them in S3. This created data lake will further be used for analysis purposes, which will use machine learning to trace patterns in threats and notify users in advance about possible incoming threats. Go language was used in this entire project. Concurrency feature of the Go language is used to allow the converter to process multiple emails simultaneously which resulted in efficient memory usage and reduced execution time. Manthan's tech stack includes Amazon Kinesis, Amazon Athena, and ML. He has also gained expertise in Amazon EC2, Amazon Kinesis Data Streams (KDS), Amazon S3, and Apache Parquet.
