Manu Vajpai, PhD is a highly experienced Senior Data Scientist with expertise in solving complex problems in the advertising domain using machine learning and deep learning models. With a strong background in biomathematics, bioinformatics, and computational biology, Manu has a unique skill set that enables him to architect machine learning and deep learning pipelines that deliver results. Currently, Manu works as a Senior Data Scientist at Plenty of Fish, where he is responsible for developing and implementing machine learning and deep learning models to improve the company's advertising strategies. Prior to this, he worked as a Staff Engineer - Machine Learning at Samsung, where he led the platform team and was responsible for developing real-time bidding, forecasting, NLP, and vision research and development. He also worked closely with key stakeholders at the Director/VP level to develop initiatives for the DSP/SSP teams. Manu was also involved in team building, mentoring, and hiring for the ML teams and collaborated with teams across different time zones and regions. Before joining Samsung, Manu worked as a Research Scientist at Zapr, where he implemented state-of-the-art research into solutions in the media domain. He mentored and contributed across teams for developing and deploying solutions for media planning with big data and optimization. He also developed several deep learning-based solutions for computer vision and NLU-based solutions for the media domain. Manu worked across teams and stakeholders for solving interdisciplinary engineering and research problems. Manu holds a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in biomathematics, bioinformatics, and computational biology from IIT and a Bachelor of Technology - BTech in the same field from IIT. He has a wealth of experience in research and data science, including expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and statistical analysis of large-scale data. His tech stack includes Python, mobile, NLP, NLU, computer vision, big data, and more.
