Manu Mampilly is an accomplished Engineering Manager with over 15 years of experience in building and scaling up Data Platform Engineering & Analytics teams. He is passionate about driving data initiatives from scratch and building data platforms that help drive customer value and meaningful insights. Manu has architected and led data initiatives to build Petabyte scale Data Platforms and helped orchestrate data products and services to democratize data. Manu has had the opportunity to drive the data mandate/roadmaps/OKR for large Fortune 500 organizations to startups on a hyperbolic growth trajectory. He is particularly interested in the pace with which technology evolves in the Data Engineering space, which drives him to learn, unlearn, and evolve constantly. Currently, Manu is working as an Engineering Manager - Data Platform Engineering at Atlassian. In his previous role as Snr Engineering Manager - Data Engineering & Analytics at Lazada, he built end-to-end data platforms to support multi-functional needs and set up platforms to support the analytics needs of the organization. He also worked as a Manager Data Engineering at Neustar, where he managed a team of Data Engineers and headed data platform & ingestion for marketing analytics products by using data from high volume big data sources such as Google Analytics, Adobe Site Catalyst, Google Double Click, Facebook. Manu has a B.Tech degree from the College of Engineering and has a strong technical background in Senior Software Engineering, Data Engineering, AWS, Hadoop, SQL, Big Data, MongoDB, Kafka, HDFS, Apache Hive, Spark, Apache Airflow, NoSQL, ETL, Cassandra, QA, MapReduce, and Software Engineering. He is a strategic thinker with excellent communication and leadership skills.
