Manuj Rai is a Control and Protection Engineer at GE Renewable Energy, specializing in Power Electronics, Power Systems, and HVDC. With over 7 years of experience in the industry, Manuj has developed a deep understanding of HVDC Control system functionalities, testing, and analysis of site control system bugs. He is well-versed in using MATLAB/Simulink for the development of HVDC control system functionalities and RSCAD for analyzing RTDS simulation models. Prior to joining GE Renewable Energy, Manuj worked as an HVDC System Design Engineer at ABB, where he gained experience in AC and DC filter modeling, steady-state and transient rating studies, and documentation for different projects and tenders. He was also involved in the preparation of requirement specifications, main circuit part lists of the HVDC converter stations, and client interactions with PGCIL India, RTE France, and National Grid U.K. Manuj began his career as an intern for the controlling of process regulation of 35MW thermal power in Alumina plant of Hindalco industries Ltd. He holds a Master of Technology (M.Tech.) in Power Electronics and Drives from MNNIT and a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Electrical Engineering from Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow. Manuj's technical skills include test, integration, and machine learning. He is a proactive professional with a track record of delivering high-quality results.
