Marcos Ortiz Valmaseda is a Full Stack Data Engineer at X-Team, working directly with Arbor Energy. With over 13 years of relevant experience, he is a heavy user of Google Cloud Platform technologies and is proficient in Data Engineering, Backend Development, CI/CD, Typescript, AWS, C, Apache Airflow, Amazon Athena, Python, Machine Learning, MySQL, MongoDB, Flask, Amazon Kinesis, Data Warehousing, Big Data, Pandas, Kafka, Salesforce, and ETL. Marcos has worked with Grupo Intercorp as a Cloud Data Engineer, where he was part of the Data Office Team. He built a customer 360 data warehouse on top of dbt, Stitch, Google BigQuery, and Google Data Studio, using data from Google Analytics 360, Google Ads, Facebook Ads, and Salesforce CRM data. He also migrated a REST-based API from Google App Engine + MongoDB to Google Cloud Run + Firestore, built Services APIs on top of Flask, Cloud Run, and Firestore, and developed an automatic Data Uploading system from Emblue Email Marketing platform to Google BigQuery using Python, Pandas, and Google Cloud APIs. Marcos has also worked with O'Reilly AlphaTech Ventures as a Venture Scout for Indie.vc, where he identified early-stage ventures with entrepreneurs who believe deeply in the power of ownership and optionality and have a chip on their shoulder or something to prove. Marcos is a blogger and talks about Growth Investing and IPOs analysis on YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, Periscope, and Twitch. He has a BS in Computer Science from Universidad de las Ciencias Informáticas. Marcos is currently working with Google Cloud (especially the Serverless tools), React, Typescript, Firebase, Google BigQuery, Datastudio, Airtable for Project Management, and Github for issues management and Github Actions for CI/CD efforts.
