Marcus Sellars is a highly skilled and motivated software engineer with a passion for full stack/front-end web development. He has gained valuable experience through three internships at Google and is set to graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Hampton University in Spring 2020. Marcus is currently working as a Software Engineer at Google and is seeking new opportunities to further develop his expertise. During his time at Google, Marcus has made significant contributions to the development of the Google Shopping webpage. He designed and implemented a new full-stack, user-facing carousel that displays offers from merchants, resulting in an estimated 6-8% increase in revenue. He also worked to improve the accessibility of Google Shopping, making it more usable for those with visual and cognitive impairments. Marcus is passionate about making websites accessible for all and believes it is extremely important. In addition to his work at Google, Marcus has also completed an Engineering Practicum Internship where he developed an authentication system for an internal management tool. He implemented a database table to store each user's request for access and created new user interfaces with AngularDart to simplify the process for new users to gain access to the tool. Marcus is highly skilled in Java, JavaScript (including frameworks such as Vue.JS), and HTML/CSS. He is primarily interested in full stack/front-end web development positions and is eager to apply his skills and experience to new projects.
