Margaret Sy is a highly skilled software engineer with over 7 years of relevant experience in the industry. She specializes in developer tooling and infrastructure and has a strong background in working with distributed systems, container orchestration, and diagnosing and fixing CI issues spanning the full stack down to the OS and hardware level. Currently working as a Software Engineer at Databricks, Margaret is responsible for developing tools and building infrastructure to support the company's developer community. Prior to this, she worked at Mesosphere Inc. where she was responsible for working on internal software frameworks, CI, and tools for automating the testing of DC/OS. She spent a lot of time digging into CI issues that spanned the multitude of components involved in the development of a cloud infrastructure product, and wrote a lot of Python (from scripts to containerized and orchestrated applications) and config files in the process. Margaret also worked at Swift Navigation where she wrote software for automated hardware-in-the-loop test infrastructure and tooling used by the firmware, applications engineering, and algorithms teams for validating new firmware for RTK GPS sensors. She worked with Python for scripting, web, and data analysis, AWS ecosystem, Docker, bash, and Javascript (ReactJS framework). Margaret completed her Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley in 2015. Prior to that, she completed her Bachelors from Milpitas High School in 2011. Margaret is highly skilled in a variety of tech stacks including Software Engineering, Infra, Test, Python, AWS, Docker, Javascript, Web, and ReactJS.
