Mark Gerrard Douglas is a seasoned Global Digital Commercial Manager at Schlumberger with over 23 years of experience in the oil and energy industry. He is responsible for designing business models for digital business across Schlumberger and working globally with all parts of the company to design digital strategy. Mark examines current and future business strategy and models to deliver business value creation for customers and partners. Mark has a proven track record of success in his previous roles at Schlumberger. As Geomarket Operations Manager in Abu Dhabi, he worked across the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Pakistan, and Oman with an amazing team of people to supply a full range of oilfield services. He was fully responsible for P&L and built a curriculum for senior managers to improve and broaden their skills. Mark was also a member of the Crisis Management Team for the Middle East Region, dealing with the current pandemic situation and business changes due to macroeconomics. In his role as Vice President of Global Digital Sales in London, Mark was responsible for all Schlumberger's commercial software. He built new cloud business models and rolled these out to the teams in the field. Mark was fully engaged in designing and deploying new cloud offerings, redefining the sales commission and KPI systems, and driving key staffing changes. He worked on Google Cloud Platform and Azure, enabling customers' digital transformation and building the pipeline through hard work and innovative demand generation. Mark is a lifelong learner who holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Decommissioning and the Environment from the University of Aberdeen. He also completed six short courses in various fields of study from Masterclass. Mark is a strategic thinker, a problem solver, and an excellent communicator who enjoys working with diverse teams of people.
