Mark Bell is the Head of Private Capital and Family Office at Balentine, where he leads the firm's efforts in serving intergenerational families and developing strategies and execution in private capital, with a primary focus on real estate, private equity, and venture capital. He is also actively involved in identifying special situations and opportunistic investments for clients and serves as a voting member of the investment committee. Mark's passion lies in working directly with intergenerational families on protecting, growing, and recognizing their wealth. As a fiduciary, he manages assets with objectivity and transparency, and measures success by the ability to assist clients in achieving their goals. Prior to joining Balentine, Mark was a Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Alternative Investments at Emory University's Goizueta Business School, where he focused on illiquidity and alternatives to alternative investments. He has also served as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Emory University, teaching courses on investments and statistics, including quantitative finance and modern momentum techniques. Mark holds a BA from Stanford University, an MSt (Masters of Study) from the University of Oxford, and a PhD (DPhil) from the University of Oxford. He also holds a Diplomia in Languages from the University of West Bohemia, Pilsen, and completed high school at The Westminster Schools. With nearly 20 years of relevant experience, Mark is a data scientist and research scientist. His tech stack includes a range of skills and tools that enable him to provide comprehensive wealth management services for entrepreneurs and business owners, multi-family office services for complex families, and global asset allocation strategies for institutions.
