Mark Erwin is a highly skilled software engineer with expertise in React, Java, and Mainframe (COBOL) development. He is currently working as a Software Engineer at DXC Technology where he is responsible for delivering high-quality technical documentation and code. Mark is also involved in mentoring junior developers and guiding them on how to think about problems in ways that will encourage them to become more independent. Outside of work, Mark is a part-time graduate student at Georgia Tech where he is studying artificial intelligence and machine learning. He is currently excited to learn about applications involving various types of markov models including MDPs, HMMs and POMDPs. With a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Dartmouth College, Mark has extensive experience in software development. He has also worked as a Computer Science TA at Dartmouth College, where he supported students with lab assignments, responded to questions on the assignment via email and Piazza, and graded assignments. Mark has a track record of designing and developing multiple systems interfacing with a cloud database service called Knack. He has written custom JavaScript for multiple tasks, including Curriculum Vitae generation using Knack Database data. This greatly simplified a tedious, time-consuming process for many medical professionals, and his system was shared and adopted across multiple departments to enable hundreds of users to generate their CV at the press of a button. Mark's technical skills include proficiency in Python, React, JavaScript, Java Enterprise Edition, COBOL, PL/I, and z/OS Mainframes. He is also well-versed in Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and Test Automation. With 3.36 years of relevant experience, Mark is a highly motivated and skilled software engineer who is always eager to take on new challenges.
