Mark Karle is a highly skilled software engineer with a passion for machine learning, distributed systems, music/DSP, games, and hard problems. He is currently working as a Software Engineer II at Amazon Web Services, where he is responsible for Full stack development using Java, JavaScript, and various AWS technologies for Amazon's Sustainability Technology/Product Compliance. Previously, he worked as a Research Engineer for Alexa Automatic Speech Recognition, where he trained and released an end of speech detection model. Mark has an MS in Computer Science and BS in Computer Science and Math from Vanderbilt University, where he also worked as a TA for CS251 - Intermediate Software Design - Spring 2015 and TA for CS282 - Operating Systems II - Fall 2015. He was also a board member of VandyHacks, a hackathon organization at Vanderbilt. Mark has also worked as an intern in the engineering department of Waycross, GA, where he improved the Geographical Information System of the city and reviewed site plans of development sites. He co-developed Rainy Monkey, an Android and iOS game, using Photoshop and the 2D tools in Unity3D.
