Mark Vicuna is an experienced multidisciplinary software engineer with over 26 years of relevant experience in the field. He is currently working as a Staff DevOps Engineer at iDevices, where he wears many hats that include DevOps, planning, and development tasks. Mark is a quick learner who easily adapts to new software technologies and software engineering methodologies. As a DevOps Engineer, Mark is responsible for monitoring the company's AWS resources and taking corrective action when needed. He also assists his coworkers with AWS issues and deploys and maintains Jenkins CI/CD systems. In terms of planning, Mark helps teams and individuals plan their agile sprint work and SAFe program increment objectives. He also participates in the architectural review and design of the company's infrastructure and components. Mark's development duties at iDevices include troubleshooting end-user issues cloud-side, fixing bugs, and adding new features to the company's cloud-based consumer services. He is also part of a team that develops tools to automate the testing of the company's IoT devices. Additionally, Mark worked on a team to prepare factory testing stations for the company's Instinct IoT device and prepared an IoT device for WiFi Alliance certification. Prior to joining iDevices, Mark worked as an Independent Contractor at Stratus Technology Integration Services, LLC, where he developed a system to manage Outlook attachments to help alleviate storage needs, add finer control over distribution of the documents, and allow auditing of the user’s interaction with the system. The system consisted of an Outlook plugin, RESTful services, and an HTML frontend. Mark was responsible for the prototyping, design, coding, and deployment of all parts of the system. Mark's past experience also includes working as a Software Engineer at Canberra Industries, Inc, where he integrated Canberra's ISOCS/LabSOCS product for release with GEnie2k 3.2, created C# examples demonstrating how to use the GEnie2k SDK, and created a device interface layer in a mix of C and C++ for the Osprey MCA hardware device. Mark holds an incomplete degree in Computer Science from Jacksonville State University.
