Maruti Kamat is an experienced Director of Engineering with a strong background in Cloud Virtualization, SDN, Disaggregated Broadband Access, WebOS, and AI/ML. With over 22 years of experience in the software industry, he has developed private and hybrid cloud offerings for Hewlett-Packard Enterprise's R&D division. He is a Project Management Professional (PMP) certified by the Project Management Institute and holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication from the National Institute of Technology (aka Karnataka Regional Engineering College), Surathkal, India. Maruti has a patent grant, patent applications, and publications to his name. He has contributed to OpenStack Neutron and is a core reviewer in OpenStack networking-l2gw. He has presented in two OpenStack summits (Paris and Vancouver) on L2 gateway conceptualization and implementation. He has experience in leading Agile scrum teams from project initiation to planning, monitoring and control, and closing. He is hands-on in Cloud virtualization (network virtualization)/orchestration using OpenStack and other open source projects like Software Defined Networking (SDN), OpenFlow, OpenVswitch, RabbitMQ, OVSDB, and Linux. Maruti has domain experience in Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) using RADIUS, AAA protocol, and Identity Management. He has a good technical background in L2 and L3 level networking and is an Agile scrum master. He has a strong technical background on Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) using client and server certificates validator suites and validation authorities. He has worked on Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery and has strong technical knowledge of RDBMS engine and LOB storage, and database connectivities like JDBC/ODBC. Maruti is an exceptional interpersonal communicator who effectively interacts with most of the levels of project management and customers. He is decisive, energetic, focused team player who plays an important role in gathering requirements, designing, implementing, and testing projects through constant improvements. He has a customer focus and a passion for building great products. Currently, Maruti is working as the Director of Engineering at Radisys. Previously, he has worked as an Architect (Expert Technologist in cloud offerings using OpenStack) at Hewlett Packard and as a Senior Software Engineer at Valicert Software Development Pvt Ltd. He has completed a Senior Management Program from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, in General Management.
