Mary Mealiffe is a skilled software developer with a background in music performance. She completed the Hackbright Academy software engineering fellowship in 2017 and is eager to launch her career. Mary is strongest in Python, HTML, and CSS, with experience in JavaScript, React, Flask, SQL, Postgres, and Ruby on Rails. She is interested in pursuing roles in front-end development, but also values becoming a solid generalist early in her career. Mary has a deep appreciation for mentorship and enjoys pair programming, which she believes reinforces one's understanding of how code works and builds communication skills. She is experienced in agile development/scrum and test-driven development and enjoys building creative and intuitive UI/UXs that enable users to accomplish tasks with ease while delivering an engaging, enjoyable, and visually aesthetic experience. Mary is a lifelong learner who loves to solve puzzles and stay engaged. She finds satisfaction in those "lightbulb moments" when everything clicks into place. Mary has worked as a teaching assistant for web application development fundamentals and as an adjunct lecturer for clarinet studies. She has participated in UI/UX design workshops at multiple companies and has been mentored by an Oakland Digital/Bridgegood board member and Google engineer. Mary holds a Master's degree in Music Performance from the University of Arizona and a Bachelor's degree in Music Performance from Humboldt State University. She is skilled in software engineering, UI design, SQL, frontend development, Ruby, and testing.
