Mathew Dominic Puthoor is a Senior Software Engineer with 9.70 years of relevant experience. He is currently working at GGWP, an early stage US-based startup that helps companies reduce toxicity in games, as a Senior Software Engineer. Mathew is responsible for collecting data from various sources and working closely with data analysts to run their machine learning models on top of it. He has expertise in Python and the AWS ecosystem, and has experience in building data pipelines and analytical tools. Mathew began his career at Oracle, where he worked on their PeopleSoft product for 2 years. He then moved to an early stage gaming startup called PlaySimple Games, where he was the 13th employee and the 4th engineer. During his time there, the company grew to over 100 employees, and Mathew built multiple data pipelines and an internal dashboard used by multiple teams. He was also involved in mentoring junior developers at that time. Mathew then moved to an employee performance management company called Reflektive Labs, where he worked on creating dashboards for HRs and managers to see how the employees were performing with respect to their goals, reviews, etc. Here, he was also involved in deciding future product features by working with product managers. At GGWP, Mathew has made changes to use Redis instead of DynamoDB as the staging database in a data pipeline, leading to over 90% reduction in cost. He has also introduced a system to share common code between multiple lambdas. In his past experience at Reflektive, he worked on real-time data pipelines to denormalize data that gets changed and store in Elasticsearch using AWS Lambda and Kinesis. He also worked on APIs using Django to fetch data from Elasticsearch based on filters and aggregation given by users across multiple products. He set up a CI/CD pipeline for deployments and releases using Jenkins. Mathew holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Computer Science from the College of Engineering Trivandrum. His tech stack includes Software Engineering, AWS, Python, Elastic Search, Redis, Javascript, ML, Django, Jenkins, Terraform, CI/CD, and Amazon Athena.
