Mathieu Durand is a Cyber Security Leader with over 22 years of experience in offensive and defensive security within MSSP and international companies. He is currently the Director of Product Security Engineering at Nuance Communications, a Microsoft company, where he is responsible for leading the Systems Security Engineering Program and team. Mathieu has extensive experience in delivering complex security projects/programs, leading, managing, and mentoring staff, and understanding risks and business impact. He possesses excellent troubleshooting and analytics skills, which he has honed over the years. In his current role, Mathieu is responsible for Product Security (SAST, DAST, Threat Modeling, Architecture Review), Security Engineering (Cloud and Infrastructure), Standard and Policy Authorship, Vendor Management, and Vulnerability Management. He has also worked as a Lead Cyber Security Architect/Analyst at SITA, where he was responsible for SIEM Architecture, Lead Red Team for SOC monitoring, Improving detection capabilities, Threat Intelligence, and IOC ingestion automation. He also worked as a Lead Cyber Security Analyst at SITA, where he extended the global SIEM solution (McAfee) (CLOUD, Data Centre, Airport, and Corporate), extended Vulnerability Scanning solution scope for SITA Cloud (Audit, Authenticated scans), conducted Security Audit, penetration testing followed by remediation tracking, and reviewed and improved SIEM correlation rules for Security Incident. Mathieu has a Master's degree in Engineering Management from Florida Institute of Technology and a Master's degree in Computer Science from CY Tech. He has a tech stack that includes Senior Software Engineer and Infra. Mathieu is an excellent team player who can work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. He is a strategic thinker who can provide innovative solutions to complex problems.
