Matt Basta is a software engineer currently working at Stripe as a Staff Software Engineer. He is passionate about building products that help real people run their businesses and get paid. Matt is also the founder of Pinecast, where he works tirelessly to keep things online. He is based in Raleigh with his partner and two cats and is a queer thinker and aspiring bodybuilder. Matt has more than 11 years of relevant experience in the tech industry. He is an expert in Stripe Express and general Connect guru, with a focus on hosted Connect experiences and security. His goal is to create surprisingly great user experiences across the company. Before joining Stripe, Matt worked as a Software Engineer II at Uber, where he built and maintained systems for financial forecasting and planning. He also founded Pinecast, where he built and maintained systems for financial forecasting and planning. Matt holds a degree in Computer Science from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and a degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from DeSales University. He is skilled in Python and Javascript and has experience working as a Software Engineer and Senior Software Engineer. Matt is not interested in leaving the Raleigh area and is not interested in startup valuations or what round a company has just raised. He is also not interested in working on digital beanie babies or anything with unmitigated carbon emissions. However, job opportunities accompanied by a delivery of Sonic soft pretzels (with the cheese dipping sauce) will be given priority consideration and a hand-written response.
