Matt Berg is a highly motivated and versatile Software Engineer with over 5 years of experience in web application development and more than 7 years of experience in creating high-quality 3D assets. He has expertise in creating characters and props for movies, games, and manufacturing. Matt is proficient in various programming languages such as Javascript, Typescript, HTML/CSS, Unix, Git, Java, Ruby, Python, C++, and C#. Matt graduated as a salutatorian from Ex'pression College for Visual Effects, where he was academically trained in traditional arts at CCA. Currently, Matt is working as a Software Engineer at Credit Karma, where he focuses on React/Scala apps for the credit card offers team. Some of his notable accomplishments include flattening all attributes for credit card data types and refactoring/updating frontend apps to render flattened data. He also added CSV exporter and diff tool capabilities to easily export customizable CSV spreadsheets with credit card offer comparisons, which reduced the time spent inputting data from many hours to one click of a button. Additionally, Matt created credit card variant editing capabilities to easily make changes to offer variants instead of deleting and rewriting offer variants, which saved the credit card offers team many hours spent rewriting variants. Prior to Credit Karma, Matt worked as a Full Stack Engineer at Stageit, where he primarily focused on frontend development using TS and JS React, nginx, Ruby on Rails, and Lua.
