Matt Bower is a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with over 17 years of relevant experience in UI development. Currently, he is working at Rally Health as a Sr Software Engineer - UI, where he is responsible for building high-quality product user experiences using React, Redux, SASS, and ES6+ with unit tests. He is an expert in improving internal FE code by creating highly reusable and robust utility modules. Matt is a mentor to junior Frontend Engineers, fielding questions, reviewing code, and teaching new concepts. Before joining Rally Health, Matt worked at Thumbtack as a Frontend Engineer, where he collaborated with designers and product managers to define and build high-quality product user experiences. He significantly improved Webpack and Storybook build speeds to increase FE development productivity across the eng org. Matt actively contributed to the internal FE community to improve FE knowledge in the eng org. Matt has also worked at Peerlyst as a Sr Frontend Engineer, where he singlehandedly built a modular, component-based UI library with React and LESS to drive the frontend of their professional networking site. He worked with designers and stakeholders to convert business requirements into specifications and devise the best solutions with a balance of technical effort and usability in a fast-paced environment.
