Matt Cielecki is a seasoned engineering leader with over 11 years of experience in the technology industry. Currently serving as the VP of Engineering at JibJab, Matt has a proven track record of leading development teams and enhancing their SDLC to strengthen and streamline their processes. He is a calculated risk-taker, unafraid to try new things and course-correct if necessary. Matt is a strong communicator, able to simplify complicated technical issues and effectively communicate with all departments within an organization. He is passionate about helping people grow and discovering their true potential, empowering his team to take ownership of their work and always strive to be better. Prior to his role at JibJab, Matt served as the Senior Director of Engineering at JibJab, leading all engineering efforts through post-acquisition as the company scaled and increased its international footprint. He also served as the Director of Engineering at Dust App, where he managed the Android, iOS, QA, and Web teams. In this role, he regularly met with team members to provide guidance and feedback, managed resource allocation and workload, and contributed to the iOS code base. Matt's accomplishments include coordinating a major pivot at Dust App, implementing a full CI/CD pipeline, migrating code repositories, and creating a formal SDLC. He also elevated crash-free rates of Android and iOS from ~92% to 99% with a relaunch and identified and executed a way to increase the App Store rating from 3.9 average, 250 ratings, to 4.4 average, 1,200 ratings in just three months. Matt holds a BS in Computer Science from Rutgers University, where he graduated in 2011. He is well-versed in a range of technologies, including AI, iOS, Android, CI/CD, QA, and Web. Matt thrives in a fast-paced, challenging environment, where he can solve the world's toughest problems with cutting-edge technology. He occasionally gives talks on AI, computer security, and other technologies he is working with.
