Matt Knox is a seasoned Senior Software Engineer with over 18 years of experience in growth engineering, rails, engineering education, and statistics. Currently, he is working as a coder at the fin exploration company. Matt has worked with some of the biggest names in the tech industry. He started his career as a programmer at Twitter, where he worked on back-end scaling issues. He was the tech lead for the native retweet feature in 2009 and built decider, Twitter's feature flagging system, for the release of that feature. Later, he worked on growth, engineering onboarding and education, and built promptbird, a system for showing prompts to users for various purposes. After Twitter, Matt joined Reddit as a Principal Engineer in the office of the CTO, where he worked broadly throughout Reddit's product and engineering teams. His main focuses were experimentation infrastructure, i18n, engineering education, and advising teams on architecture and design. Matt holds a BS degree in physics from New York University, where he studied from 1995 to 2000. He has a deep understanding of Ruby and infra and is well-versed in various other technologies.
