Matt Ouille is a seasoned Staff Software Engineer with a passion for automation, distributed systems, and Linux. He has a wealth of experience working on platforms and tooling, and his favorite programming languages are Go and Python. Matt is currently a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Slack, where he is responsible for ensuring the reliability and scalability of the company's infrastructure. Prior to joining Slack, Matt worked as a Staff Software Engineer at Intuit, where he honed his skills in software engineering and infrastructure orchestration. He also served as the Director of Software Engineering at Capstone Metering, LLC, where he was responsible for implementing infrastructure orchestration with Terraform and enabling fully immutable infrastructure with Packer, Concourse, and Terraform. Matt is a firm believer in TDD, BDD, and Scrum culture, and he has introduced iterative development philosophies that have fueled a weekly release cycle and greater discovery within organizations. Matt is a graduate of Dallas College North Lake Campus, where he earned an Associate's degree in Applied Science. He also attended Flower Mound High School, where he obtained his High School Education. Matt's technical skills include SRE, Software Engineering, Python, Terraform, infra, Microservices, CI/CD, and Backend, and he has over 13 years of relevant experience in the field. In his spare time, Matt enjoys learning new programming languages and contributing to open-source software projects. He is currently learning Rust and is excited about the possibilities it offers. Matt is a self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic and a passion for excellence. He is always looking for new challenges and opportunities to grow as a software engineer and a professional.
