Matteo Bertoia is a skilled Automation Engineer with experience in a range of industries, including IT, Automotive, and Aerospace. He specializes in control systems engineering, utilizing the Model-Based Design (MBD) approach to tackle complex control design issues. Matteo's thesis work focused on the integration of the Matlab-Simulink framework for the end-to-end design and testing of quadcopter controllers within the ROS framework. He also worked with the 3D Simulator Gazebo to enable realistic simulation and performance evaluation. With experience working in Brazil and Italy, Matteo has built his career around the world, leveraging his trilingual language skills to communicate effectively with diverse teams. Currently, he works as a Project Leader for logic s.p.a. sistemi avionici, where he implements the steering control unit of aircrafts in compliance with DO-178 Standards. His responsibilities include team building, C code implementation, software updating, algorithm analysis, and customer care. Previously, Matteo worked as a Software Engineer at Leonardo Helicopters for Alten Calsoft Labs. In this role, he used Matlab/Simulink, UA2, and VAPS XT to develop software for the aerospace branch. He also wrote C++ code S-functions and optimized software using customized Matlab scripts. Matteo holds a Master's degree in Mathematics from the Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca, where he also worked as a Tutor for the Department of Mathematics. He also has a Master's degree in Automation Engineering from the Università degli Studi di Padova and a Bachelor's degree in Information Engineering from the same institution. Additionally, he completed a course in Machine Learning at Stanford University.
